About this pillar

Mind Growth and Problem Solving

At Magic Days, our Growing Minds pillar nurtures children's curiosity, reasoning, and problem-solving skills through STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and Coding. We provide experiences that allow children to represent their thoughts, formulate hypotheses, and ask and answer questions in response to different situations, helping them make sense of their reality.

Our goal is to build strong thinking skills that grow year after year, preparing children for future learning and real-world challenges.

STEM, the Magic Days way

Each part of STEM grows curiosity and the confidence to solve problems.

Science

Weekly science projects let children observe, experiment and discover how the world around them works.

Science at Magic Days encourages children to explore, observe, and understand the world around them. We foster curiosity and investigative thinking by guiding children to notice patterns, changes, and relationships in their environment. To deepen learning, children participate in a weekly science project connected to a monthly thematic focus, allowing them to experiment, reflect, and discuss their observations. This approach develops early theories, reasoning skills, and a love of discovery, laying the foundation for structured thinking and lifelong learning.

Technology

Hands-on tools and step-by-step processes teach children how things work, with no screens needed.

Technology represents the understanding of tools, systems, and processes that help children solve problems and achieve goals. Our approach emphasizes hands-on, age-appropriate activities and materials, rather than digital devices. Children explore how tools work, how processes are organized, and how steps can be sequenced to solve challenges. This approach builds creativity, logical thinking, independence, and problem-solving strategies that form the foundation for future technological understanding.

Engineering

Children plan, build, test and try again, learning there is more than one way to solve a problem.

Engineering at Magic Days focuses on problem-solving, planning, and designing solutions. Children are encouraged to analyze challenges, imagine multiple possibilities, test ideas, and make adjustments as needed. This develops resilience, patience, flexible thinking, and an understanding that there can be multiple ways to solve a problem, an essential mindset for innovation and real-world challenges.

Mathematics

Counting, sorting and patterns with real materials build logical thinking and confidence with numbers.

Mathematics helps children develop logical reasoning, pattern recognition, and an understanding of relationships and quantities. Our approach emphasizes conceptual understanding through hands-on materials and real-world problem solving. Children learn to explain their thinking, make decisions, and apply logic to different situations. These skills strengthen structured thinking, persistence, and confidence in tackling challenges.

Coding

Screen-free games teach sequencing and cause and effect, breaking big problems into small steps.

Coding introduces children to sequencing, logical thinking, and problem-solving in a developmentally appropriate way. At Magic Days, coding is taught through hands-on activities that focus on cause-and-effect, order of operations, and breaking problems into smaller steps, without relying on computers. This approach strengthens executive functioning, planning, and reasoning skills while fostering creativity, persistence, and the ability to approach challenges systematically.
